Frida
Frida is a dynamic instrumentation toolkit that lets you inject JavaScript into running processes to observe and modify their behaviour.
Legal & ethical use. Use this tool only on systems, networks and data that you own or have explicit written permission to test. Unauthorised access or scanning can break computer-misuse laws (for example Pakistan's Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, and equivalents elsewhere). Practise in your own lab or in authorised environments such as CTFs.
What it is used for
- Hook functions of an app you own to understand its behaviour
- Test mobile app security in a lab
Key features
- Script injection into processes
- Android and iOS support
- Python and Node.js bindings
Installation
Install with `pip install frida-tools` and see the docs for target-specific setup.
Beginner usage guide
Attach to a practice process in a lab and print arguments to a function you are interested in, then refine your script.
