Sigma
Sigma is a generic, vendor-neutral rule format for log detections that can be converted into queries for many SIEM products.
Legal & ethical use. Use this tool only on systems, networks and data that you own or have explicit written permission to test. Unauthorised access or scanning can break computer-misuse laws (for example Pakistan's Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, and equivalents elsewhere). Practise in your own lab or in authorised environments such as CTFs.
What it is used for
- Write a detection once and convert it for your SIEM
- Use community rules as a starting point for detection engineering
Key features
- YAML rule format
- Large public rule repository
- Converters for many backends
Installation
Browse rules in the repository and use the sigma-cli/pySigma tools to convert them.
